The Stalking Moon

IT BEGINS: "For me, October is the Stalking Moon. Winter carefully, quietly stalks those of us who stay in the North. The blush of fresh raspberries is gone. Leaves are losing their battle with the winds. Occasionally, there is the fire of red in the bushes along the ground, but, for the most part, the world is muted with soft golds and browns."

I HOPE YOU ENJOY this reflection on the season. Halloween is in the air. New flocks of birds like the snow buntings are back. The waves on Superior are often dark and laden with clouds.

It is a time of year for making camp. I would refer you to boreal.org. What do you notice? What's different than only a few short weeks ago?
